People travel from all over the world to receive care at Mayo Clinic, and now you can bring the same care into your home through videoconferencing. To get started simply download the software or review system requirements below.


System Requirements
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 7 or later; Apple OS 10.7 or later
Broadband internet connection with a minimum 100 kbps (The minimum internet package from vendors such as Century Link, Charter, Comcast, Dish, is adequate)
Webcam (either integrated or plug-in)
Speakers and microphone (or an audio headset) If you would like to check whether your system currently meets the requirements, please contact our virtual receptionists at 507-255-3081 or by email.


PC INSTALLATION
  1. Download the software

  2. Install the software
    Click Run. This installs VidyoDesktop and our call management software, Mayo Clinic Virtual Visits. A shortcut to MC Video Visit is also installed on your desktop.

  3. Verify the software can detect your equipment
    Once installed, follow the instructions to confirm that your peripherals are connected properly. Click Close after you have verified all your settings are correct.

  4. Make a test call any time between 8am and 4pm on weekdays
    • Launch the Mayo Clinic Virtual Visits software (from the shortcut on your desktop or your applications folder)
    • You must first reset your password before logging in for the first time. Click on the Create or Reset Password option towards the bottom of the screen.
    • In the Forget Password section, enter your user name and click on Reset Password tab. You will receive a new e-mail in your inbox from “reports@sbrhealth.com” with a temporary password. You may either keep and use this password or enter back into the Create or Reset Password section and use the Change Password section to change it.
    • Type in the following as the hostname: videovisitsetup.mayo.edu
    • Type in your primary e-mail address for the Username. Type in the temporary password you received or your custom password you created as your Password
    • Click Login/Patient Login.
    • Click Make An Appointment. Soon, a Patient Support Specialist will answer your call to help you test the audio and video settings.

  5. Attend your appointment
    At least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment, login using the same process as the test call. A Patient Support Specialist will answer your call as quickly as possible and transfer you to your provider. While you are waiting, you will see a video welcoming you to Mayo Clinic.

MAC INSTALLATION

    Open the package and follow the installer instructions. This installs VirtualVisit.app. You can find VirtualVisit.app in your applications folder or via Launchpad. Learn more about Launchpad. VirtualVisit.app will likely be on the last screen and has a blue and white icon that looks like this:
